Birkenhead Point / Wharf

Playground Area

Access to Birkenhead Point/Wharf is at the end of Hinemoa Street, Birkenhead, or via ferry from downtown Auckland.

A water sports paradise with all-tide boat ramp and facilities for all water activities and fishing.

Hinemoa Park alongside provides a playground and picnic area ideal for a family outing, or you could have a coffee and something to eat at the Birkenhead Wharf Café right on the water looking down to the Harbour Bridge.

Visitors are welcome from 10am - 5pm wekkedays, and its a good idea to ring first at the weekends.

Peter Collis has been a potter for more than 30 years and is well known for his throwing of carefully refined forms and his masterly treatment of surface in a wide range of glaze colours and effects. Julie Collis is a glass artist whose work spans a wide range of screenprinted tableware, hand painted platters and fused glass jewellery.
